WoW on a Chromebook
You do not install World of Warcraft on ChromeOS, and you do not need Linux or Wine for the browser realms. Open Keldurn or Last Havens in Chrome. Azeroth Survivors needs Chrome 113 or newer for WebGPU. The official client only arrives if GeForce NOW or Shadow streams a Windows session.

Chrome, not a Linux container
Last Havens' Chromebook guide says to open the play page in Chrome, create the account on the login screen, and expect about 50 MB the first time. Touchscreen Chromebooks get a touch toggle under interface options. The guide's point is that Linux mode and Wine are unnecessary. Keldurn's device list includes Chromebook on the same realm as desktop, again with no Linux step.
Azeroth Survivors follows Chrome's WebGPU support, which Can I use marks from Chrome 113. A keyboard is the control scheme the survivors guide prefers. A low-memory Chromebook can still open the page and then struggle. I do not promise every Chromebook, because no public test grid splits ARM from Intel boards.
When you want the real client
NVIDIA says WoW streams to Chromebooks. A requirements page cites 4 GB of RAM as a floor and about 15 Mbps for 720p60 or 25 Mbps for 1080p60. You still need the WoW subscription. Shadow opens a Windows desktop at pc.shadow.tech in Chrome, with the UK monthly prices on its Chromebook article. The same article notes Steam for Chromebooks ending in 2026, which is a platform change, not a WoW patch.
Questions people ask
| Can you play WoW on a Chromebook? | Not by installing Battle.net. You can open a browser realm in Chrome, or stream the official client. |
|---|---|
| Do I need Linux? | Not for Keldurn or Last Havens. Their guides say Chrome is the whole setup. |
| Which Chromebook runs Azeroth Survivors? | One whose Chrome has WebGPU, version 113 or newer, and enough GPU for a 3D page. Weak hardware is a known limit. |
| Is 4 GB enough for GeForce NOW? | NVIDIA's cited floor is 4 GB. It is a minimum they publish, not a promise of smooth play. |
